Recently I attended a Starting and Running a Creative Business with a few other fellow crafters. I went along with a view to finding out more about selling items on line, as any crafter knows sometimes you can get swamped with all your 'makes' and it is nice to sell a few if only to add pennies to the coffers to buy more crafting materials.
But I was swept away with all the information and knowledge that was offered and when I sat at home later with a cup of coffee and assimilated the information, it dawned on me that this was not just some random course to attend then come home and forget, this was serious stuff.
As part of a case study we were given to work through, a question 'You are aiming for an income of £15,000 a year (you can alter this) how many products do you need to sell? and is this feasible'. We as a focus group struggled with this one but as I said earlier when I came home and thought about this question it occurred to me that when I finish the job I am doing now and move over to seriously start to think about something else this was a question for me. I would like to make in the region of £5,000 a year for holidays. This could be the answer. So ladies (and gents if some come across this in passing) I am now about to take my bag making hopefully to the next level.
There are three more classes before the end of the course and I am anticipating lots of useful information so in the mean time I am testing the water so to speak with my 'Market Bag'
Below are three bags that are for sale at a reasonable cost of £6.99 free postage as a part of my market research and if you have any comments please do contact me either via my blog, Facebook page or direct on holland8bw@btinternet.com all comments will be answered.

These bags are so pretty, Beverley, and as the owner of one of your bags, which you kindly gave me several years ago, I can recommend them highly as being very good value for money, strong, yet light, and easy to fold up when not in use. If you can find your market I'm sure you'll sell plenty.
